Dr. Powell enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults. His goal is to provide the highest level of personalized service. Since starting private practice in 1987, Dr. Powell has enjoyed treating over 10,000 orthodontic patients. He also strives through continuing education to search for new, innovative orthodontic developments to ensure his patients are always receiving the most advanced orthodontic care available. Dr. Powell has always had a passion for healthcare and science. He attended Alma College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1985 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. He was then accepted to Indiana University receiving his Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics in 1987 where the faculty presented him with the Farnsworth Award for outstanding orthodontic graduate. Dr. Powell has a strong dedication to the community and supports many sports and academic endeavors through the local schools. He also enjoys coaching youth softball, basketball, and soccer. Dr. Powell and his wife, Shari, reside in Hudsonville with their three daughters, Brittani, Breanna, and Ali. They enjoy the outdoors, sports, and spending time together as a family.
